Ahead of their preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers, the Broncos have released their initial unofficial depth chart for the 2025 season.

Second-year wide receiver Troy Franklin keeps making plays, and Denver's coaching staff has taken notice.

The Broncos continued their focus on situational football as they returned to the field on Monday.

"You hear him before you see him," Head Coach Sean Payton said Thursday. "And I like that energy about him."

Another interception for Pat Surtain II. A side-arm sling for a first down for Bo Nix. A perfect end-zone jump-ball grab for Courtland Sutton.

"I think I've always had it," Allen said Saturday of his self-belief. "But last year, I was just in a really good situation, playing with some really good players. This organization really set me up for success."

"The significance of operating with a fixed amount of time on the clock, defending it and attacking it is extremely important," Payton said of the two-minute work.

The Broncos expect to regain a pair of defenders at practice next week.

"I've felt it before here, but that was like, 'OK. Oh yeah, we're ready for this — all the expectations and everything,'" Trautman said Thursday. "Yesterday's practice was the best practice I've been a part of in my three years here."

After three consecutive padded practices, the Broncos' mental focus was on display on Thursday.

"I've put on some good muscle," Moss said after Day 5 of Broncos camp. "I only put on .4 percent body fat, so it was good."

The back-and-forth nature of Wednesday's work reemphasized the competitive value of training camp.

"He epitomizes what we're looking for," Head Coach Sean Payton said of Sutton.

"It was always really fun," Garrett said. "We had seats clear on the south end; you probably have heard about how crazy the south stands were. … My tickets were $7.50."

Head Coach Sean Payton said Singleton was expected to undergo surgery on Tuesday before returning to Denver on Wednesday.

Chase Daniel, a 14-year NFL quarterback and co-host of The Athletic's "Scoop City" podcast, stopped by training camp Monday to witness the Broncos' first day in pads. Daniel stuck around to share his insights on what makes this year's squad stand out.

"He plays like Mike Tyson," Head Coach Sean Payton said. "He's tough, he's physical. He's built that way."

"Being the quarterback of a team like this, it's what you live for," Nix said.

The Broncos moved their work to the red zone on Day 2 of training camp, and a pair of cornerbacks showed off their playmaking ability.

"What has been great about our ownership group is the vision and passion that they have to make this … the best team to play for, work for and cheer for — and that becomes the training facility, that is the stadium, that is the uniforms we've done," Leech said.

"I'm just addicted to getting better," Engram said. "I never want to put a ceiling or a limit on the evolution of my game."

"Being more of a leader for the team, that's the only thing that's changed as far as my work," Cooper said. "Getting better and trying to be the best I can be every day — that hasn't changed."
