ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver could soon regain a member of its defense.
The Broncos designated rookie inside linebacker Karene Reid for return from injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.
Denver also signed guard Nash Jones to the practice squad.
Reid participated in the media-viewing portion of practice on Wednesday and is eligible to be activated to the 53-man roster at any point in the next 21 days. If he is activated, he can play as early as Sunday against the Jaguars. If Reid is not activated within the next 21 days, he would revert to IR for the remainder of the season.
The Broncos initially placed Reid on injured reserve after he suffered his injury in Week 10 against the Raiders. He has missed the Broncos' last four games and is now eligible to return. The Utah product, who made the Broncos' initial 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie free agent, played 59 percent of the Broncos' special teams snaps before his injury.
Denver has designated six of a potential eight players for return from injured reserve since the start of the 2025 regular season. Defensive tackle Malcolm Roach and linebackers Dre Greenlaw and Garret Wallow were previously activated, while guard Ben Powers was designated for return last week and has yet to be activated. Linebacker Drew Sanders was designated for return at the beginning of the season when he was placed on injured reserve, but the team has not yet begun his 21-day window.
The Broncos will receive an additional two designations — for a total of 10 — when the postseason begins.
Jones, a Texas State product, competed with the Chargers during the offseason. He has not appeared in an NFL regular-season game but was an All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention selection following the 2024 season. Jones started all 12 games for the Bobcats at left guard during his final collegiate season.
