Johnson appeared in 20 games for the Broncos from 2022-23, recording 25 catches for 326 yards and five touchdowns with Denver.

Cornerback Damarri Mathis is also active for Sunday's game.

The Broncos can activate Johnson as soon as this week, which would make him eligible to play in the Broncos' Week 13 game against the Houston Texans.

Running back Dwayne Washington, meanwhile, returned to practice on Thursday as a full participant after being held out of Wednesday's session with a knee injury.

Through the team's first four games, Johnson is tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with three, and he's totaled 113 yards on seven receptions.

Both players are looking forward to their Florida homecomings in a critical matchup against Miami.

"Two undrafted players and a fifth-rounder who few predicted would be taking meaningful snaps this late in the year [will be in the lineup] for a team that began the season with numerous weapons at the position," The Athletic's Nick Kosmider wrote. 

Denver also promoted WR Brandon Johnson to the active roster and elevated CB Faion Hicks and LB Harvey Langi for Denver's Week 13 game in Baltimore.

"To score his first touchdown, what a blessing," Wilson said. "Obviously, he worked. He's been working so hard. He's done an amazing job."

Denver also activated placed ILB Jonas Griffith on injured reserve and elevated two players from the practice squad.

"... It's nothing crazy, my ankle [will] be good," Johnson said after the game.
