LB Alexander Johnson signs restricted free agent tender

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Linebacker Alexander Johnson has signed his restricted free agent tender, the Broncos announced Thursday.

Denver also officially signed tackle Cameron Fleming and waived quarterback Case Cookus.

Johnson, a two-year starter for Denver, appeared in all 16 games last year and recorded 124 tackles, four tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, two passes defensed and a sack. He is now officially under contract with the team through the 2021 season.

Fleming, a 2014 fourth-round pick, is entering his eighth season in the NFL and should compete with Bobby Massie for the Broncos' starting right tackle position. In 2020, Fleming started all 16 games for the Giants at right tackle. He has 42 starts during his career.

Cookus tried out with the team during rookie minicamp before signing with the team earlier this week. He played his collegiate football at the University of Northern Arizona.
