ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — After being removed from Tuesday's practice, first-round pick Pat Surtain II was held out of Wednesday's session, as well.

"He's just got a little slight irritation in the lower leg," Head Coach Vic Fangio said. "I think he's OK, but we're being precautious with it."

Surtain participated in the individual period on Tuesday but did not take part in seven-on-seven or 11-on-11 work.

Safety Kareem Jackson, running back Mike Boone (quad), safety Trey Marshall (ankle) and outside linebackers Malik Reed (ankle) and Andre Mintze (concussion protocol) also did not practice.

Wide receiver Tim Patrick (groin) and outside linebacker Von Miller both returned to practice, though Patrick appeared to have a limited workload.
