ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto returned to practice for the Broncos on Tuesday after previously undergoing a procedure on his foot.

"It's good to have him back out here," Head Coach Sean Payton said after practice.

Bonitto did not practice against the Cardinals last week or play in Denver's preseason win on Saturday.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw also saw increased action on Tuesday, as Payton indicated he would last week.

Payton said guard Nick Gargiulo, who was placed on injured reserve on Sunday, suffered an ACL injury. Gargiulo suffered the season-ending injury during Saturday's game against Arizona.

"That's a tough loss," Payton said.

Payton also said the Broncos, who signed fullback Adam Prentice on Sunday, will continue to "pay real close attention" to the waiver wire for tight end and fullback prospects as tight end Nate Adkins recovers from an ankle injury.

"Nate was one of those players that I don't know got a lot of attention, yet there was a lot of respect around the league and in the locker room for the way he did a number of things," Payton said. "It'll be good to get him back when we do. In the meantime, we've got to fill that void somehow."
