Injury Report: Noah Fant among Broncos held out of Wednesday's practice

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos practiced without tight end Noah Fant (hip/foot) and three starters Wednesday as they began their on-field preparation for a Week 15 game against the Chiefs.

Fant, guard Ron Leary (concussion), tackle Ja'Wuan James (knee) and defensive end Adam Gotsis (knee) were all held out of Sunday's session. Defensive end Dre'Mont Jones (ankle) also missed practice.

Both Fant and Jones exited during Sunday's game against the Texans. Leary missed the Broncos' Week 14 game as he remained in the concussion protocol.

"I think his outlook is positive overall, but no guarantees," said Head Coach Vic Fangio of Fant.

Fangio added that injured reserve was not an option "at this moment" for Jones.

James' absence, meanwhile, was precautionary.

"We'll see how he comes out the next few days," said Fangio when asked what James' role could be Sunday. "Hopefully it's at least as much if not more, but if his knee is still bothering him, then we'll have to adjust."

James played the first half against the Texans in Week 14. It was his most extensive action of the season, as he had appeared in just two other games this year. Against the Raiders and in his return vs. the Colts, James exited before halftime.

OLB Jeremiah Attaochu (foot), LB Alexander Johnson (knee), LB Joe Jones (back), OLB Von Miller (knee), NT Mike Purcell (shoulder/knee), OLB Malik Reed (ankle) and CB Isaac Yiadom (shoulder) were listed as limited.
