DeMarcus Ware announces retirement

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware announced the end of his 12-year NFL career on Monday via Twitter.

The four-time first-team All-Pro spent the final three years of his career in Denver, where he totaled 21.5 sacks. He finished eighth all-time among sack leaders with 138.5 sacks.

Ware was instrumental in the Broncos' 2015-16 run to Super Bowl 50, as he recorded 3.5 sacks during the team's three-game march to the title.
