Broncos waive Davontae Harris, sign Jordan Leggett to practice squad

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have waived cornerback Davontae Harris, the team announced Tuesday.

Denver also signed tight end Jordan Leggett to the team's practice squad.

Harris, whom the Broncos claimed off waivers before the 2019 season, appeared in 23 games and made seven starts for Denver over the last two seasons. He tallied 39 total tackles and three passes defensed.

He played seven special teams snaps against the Raiders on Sunday, but he appeared on defense just once this season as he played 54 snaps against the Falcons.

The Broncos signed cornerback De'Vante Bausby last week, but he was not available to play against the Raiders because of COVID-19 testing protocols. He is expected to be available this week.

Leggett, a 2017 fifth-round draft pick by the Jets, last appeared in a regular-season game in 2018. He appeared in 15 games and started four contests for the Jets, totaling 14 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown.

The Clemson product is the second tight end to join the Broncos' practice squad in recent weeks, as the Broncos signed Troy Fumagalli to the practice squad after Albert Okwuegbunam suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

Denver's active roster currently sits at 51 players.
