ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver has added to its running back room.
The Broncos signed running back Salvon Ahmed to their practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.
Denver released wide receiver Kaden Davis from the practice squad in a corresponding move.
Ahmed is a 5-foot-11, 197-pound player who has rushed for 593 yards and five touchdowns in his career. During four seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2020-23, Ahmed appeared in 38 games and averaged 3.6 yards per attempt. He also caught 40 passes for 274 yards and a touchdown.
His most productive season came in 2020, when he rushed for 319 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
The Broncos' active roster features Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie and Blake Watson at the running back position. Badie suffered an injury against the Jets, but Head Coach Sean Payton said he returned to Denver on Sunday evening. Rookie Audric Estime was placed on IR after Week 1 and is eligible to return in Week 6 against the Chargers.
