ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added a specialist to their roster.

Denver signed punter Trenton Gill, the team announced Wednesday. The Broncos waived college free agent safety Cam Allen in a corresponding move.

A seventh-round pick by the Bears in 2022, Gill served as Chicago's punter for each of the last two seasons. In 34 games, he has averaged 46.1 yards per punt and 38.5 net yards per punt.

Gill had more than 25 percent of his punts downed inside the opposing 20-yard line in each of the last two seasons.

The Broncos now have a pair of punters on their roster in Gill and veteran Riley Dixon, who returned to Denver in 2023 to average 46.3 yards per punt and 41.5 net yards per punt.

Allen signed with the team ahead of rookie minicamp and participated in the Broncos' weekend of practice.
