ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos continue to make moves to improve their defensive depth.

Denver signed outside linebacker Aaron Patrick off the Jaguars' practice squad, the team announced Thursday.

The Broncos waived running back Nate McCrary in a corresponding roster move.

Patrick, a first-year player out of Eastern Kentucky, posted six tackles and a sack for the Jaguars during the preseason.

The former undrafted player was a first-team FCS All-American in 2019 and the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He posted 27.5 sacks during his career.

Patrick joins Von Miller, Malik Reed, Jonathon Cooper and Andre Mintze at outside linebacker on the Broncos' active roster. Denver recently signed Pita Taumoepenu to its practice squad, and Head Coach Vic Fangio said the team had considered moving Baron Browning to outside linebacker, as well.

The Broncos placed starting outside linebacker Bradley Chubb on IR earlier this week and expect him to be out for six to eight weeks.
