ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver has retained a veteran player in its quarterback room.
The Broncos re-signed quarterback Sam Ehlinger to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
In his first year in Denver, Ehlinger served as the Broncos' emergency third quarterback for a significant portion of the 2025 season. He also was elevated from the practice squad to game-day roster on multiple other occasions.
The 2021 sixth-round pick also served as the Broncos' backup quarterback for the AFC Championship Game.
While Ehlinger did not see action during the 2025 regular season, he completed 73.7 percent of his passes for 415 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a 98.2 quarterback rating in preseason action with the Broncos.
Before arriving in Denver, Ehlinger started three games for the Colts — all during the 2022 season — and appeared in eight games across three years.
In addition to Ehlinger, the Broncos have re-signed running back J.K. Dobbins, tight ends Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins, inside linebackers Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad and offensive lineman Alex Palczewski.
