ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have kept a team captain in Denver.

Denver re-signed inside linebacker Alex Singleton to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Singleton has spent the last four seasons in Denver, starting 49 of the 55 games in which he's appeared across the regular season and playoffs. The Broncos' leading tackler in three of his four seasons in Denver, Singleton has started the last 36 games in which he has appeared.

The veteran linebacker has notched at least 120 tackles in five of his last six seasons, and he returned from a 2024 ACL injury to start 16 regular-season games and lead the Broncos with 135 tackles in 2025.

A team captain, Singleton also recorded three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, a sack, a forced fumble and four passes defensed for the league's third-ranked scoring defense last season.

Singleton, the team's most recent Ed Block Courage Award winner, missed just one game in 2025 despite undergoing surgery for testicular cancer midway through the season. Singleton played in the Broncos' Week 10 win over the Raiders following the diagnosis and then underwent surgery. He returned to the field following the Broncos' Week 12 bye.

In 2023, Singleton posted the most double-digit tackle games in a season by any NFL player since 1999, and he notched the most tackles by a Broncos player in a single season since at least 1991.

Prior to signing in Denver in 2022, Singleton played three seasons in Philadelphia. Singleton also played in the Canadian Football League prior to his NFL career.

Denver has now announced the re-signing of Singleton, offensive lineman Alex Palczewski and tight end Adam Trautman.
