ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Denver has added quarterback Sam Ehlinger back to the 53-man roster.

The Broncos promoted Ehlinger from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Wednesday.

Denver had an open spot on its active roster, as linebacker Dre Greenlaw was placed on the Reserve/Suspended list for this week's game.

Ehlinger spent the first six weeks of the season on the Broncos' active roster and served as the team's emergency quarterback on game day. Ehlinger was on the Broncos' practice squad for last week's game against the Giants.

Denver also signed tackle Marques Cox and wide receiver Kyrese Rowan to the practice squad.

Cox and Rowan are both undrafted rookies who competed with the Broncos during the offseason and training camp.

Cox started 25 games for Kentucky over his final two collegiate seasons, while Rowan caught 44 passes for 526 yards and three touchdowns in his final year at Utah State.

Denver previously released tackle Karsen Barnhart from the practice squad.
