KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Broncos have made a series of transactions ahead of "Thursday Night Football."

Denver promoted guard Calvin Throckmorton and tight end Marcedes Lewis from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Thursday.

The Broncos placed center Luke Wattenberg on injured reserve and waived running back Cody Schrader in corresponding moves.

Denver also elevated inside linebacker Levelle Bailey and wide receiver Michael Bandy from the practice squad for Thursday's game.

Throckmorton has appeared in nine games for the Broncos this season, playing 15 percent of Denver's special teams snaps in those games. The veteran player has appeared in 57 games in his career.

Lewis has played four games for the Broncos this year and logged 25 percent of Denver's offensive snaps in those appearances. Denver previously ruled out tight end Nate Adkins for Thursday's game.

Denver claimed Schrader off waivers ahead of Week 16, and he was inactive for that game.

Bailey has appeared in one game this season, playing 10 special teams snaps against the Titans in Week 1. On Wednesday, Denver ruled out linebackers Dre Greenlaw and Karene Reid for Thursday's game.

Bandy has appeared in three games this season, catching two passes for 36 yards and his first career touchdown. Denver ruled out wide receiver Pat Bryant on Wednesday.

The Broncos will face the Chiefs at 6:15 p.m. MT on Prime Video.
