ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have activated safety Jamar Johnson from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Friday.
Denver released wide receiver Amara Darboh in a corresponding move.
Johnson practiced Friday for the first time in training camp. He was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list before the start of training camp.
Denver selected Johnson in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
"He's got to get reps," Head Coach Vic Fangio said Friday. "It's one thing to sit in a meeting and learn. … And there's no way to catch up other than get out there and practice."
Darboh signed with the Broncos in mid-June after participating in the team's mandatory minicamp as a tryout player.
A 2017 third-round pick, Darboh spent time on the Buccaneers', Steelers' and Panthers' practice squads.
