Biography

MARSHALL AT A GLANCE:

  • A seventh-year linebacker who played 63 career regular-season games (56 starts) and seven playoff contests (4 starts) during his first six NFL seasons with Jacksonville (2012) and Denver (2013-17).
  • Led the Broncos in 2017 with 106 tackles (75 solo) in addition to three sacks (10 yds.), four passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. 
  • Opened all 11 games played for Denver in 2016, registering 52 tackles (39 solo) and three passes defensed. 
  • Finished second on the Broncos with 101 tackles (76 solo) in 2015 in addition to tallying 1.5 sacks (10.5 yds.), one interception, four passes defensed and two forced fumbles.
  • Voted by his teammates as the co-recipient of the 2015 Ed Block Courage Award after coming back from a foot injury to post his second consecutive 100-plus tackle season.
  • Selected by the local media as the recipient of the Darrent Williams Good Guy Award in 2015, given annually to the Bronco who best exemplifies Williams’ enthusiasm, cooperation and honesty while dealing with members of the press. 
  • Named a 2015 Broncos Community Ambassador award winner.
  • Led the Broncos with 110 tackles (88 solo) in 2014 with that total ranking second in the NFL among first-year defensive starters.
  • Spent the majority of the 2013 season on the Broncos’ practice squad before being elevated to the active roster and appearing in four games (1 reg. season, 3 postseason).
  • Saw action in five games for the Jaguars as a rookie in 2012 and contributed three special-teams tackles for the club.
  • Totaled 259 career tackles, including 40 stops for a loss, as a four-year starter at the University of Nevada.
  • Joined the Broncos as a practice-squad signee on Sept. 2, 2013.
  • Selected by Jacksonville in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.
