ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have gone back to back.

Outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Jets in Week 6, the NFL announced Wednesday.

The Player of the Week honor is the first of Cooper's career.

Cooper recorded two total sacks, including a crucial fourth-down takedown of Justin Fields to seal Denver's 13-11 win in London. He also added five tackles, a tackle for loss and three quarterback hits.

In 18 pass rushes on Sunday, Cooper generated seven pressures to go with his two sacks for a career-high 38.9 percent pressure rate. Five of those seven pressures and 1.5 of his sacks came against top-10 pick Armand Membou.

Cooper led the Broncos in sacks as the unit recorded as many sacks (9) as allowed completions. Denver allowed -10 net passing yards, the fewest in franchise history and the fewest by any team since 1998.

Cooper has earned the honor a week after outside linebacker Nik Bonitto got the nod for the first time in his career. Denver is the first team with back-to-back AFC Defensive Player of the Week selections since Taron Jonson and Terrel Bernard in Weeks 10 and 11 last season.
