ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos have launched a new PLAY 60 initiative called Miles for Miles; a walk week hosted by Miles the Mascot.

The inaugural walk week begins Monday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 15, with more than 400 children from 20 Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver branches participating.

In celebration of the new initiative, a Miles For Miles kickoff event will take place at Johnson Elementary Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Denver Broncos Cheerleaders and players are scheduled to appear. Children will be treated to post-walk fuel provided by Dairy MAX and Fuel Up to Play 60 — the nation's leading youth wellness program empowering students, parents and educators to work together to build healthier communities.

"We are excited to launch Miles for Miles — a brand new Broncos PLAY 60 initiative encouraging kids to be active and get their steps in," Broncos Community Development Coordinator Katie Shuster said. "With Miles the Mascot as our host this week, we also encourage children and families from across Broncos Country to participate from home and send in their photos and videos of how they walked a mile with Miles."

At each walk location, participants will receive a pre-walk stretch video led by a Denver Broncos Cheerleader, walk bibs, completion certificates and pedometers to keep track of their progress.

Children and families throughout Broncos Country can participate from home by watching the warmup video, as well as downloading the walk bib and certificate from the Broncos PLAY 60 website: dbron.co/play60.
