Harris Will 'Definitely' be Ready for Week 1

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- As impressive as Von Miller![](/team/roster/von-miller/036470c3-df00-47e4-a936-86200f2c88dc/ "Von Miller")'s recovery from his ACL injury has been, Chris Harris Jr. continues to raise the bar in returning from his own ACL tear.

"I mean there's really no comparison," Harris said Monday, laughing. "I came back before six months, so there's no comparison."

Harris had surgery a month after Miller, who avoided the PUP list at the start of training camp and worked into some 7-on-7 drills during the first week before joining team drills a few days ago. Harris cleared the PUP list at the start of last week and saw his first 7-on-7 action today.

"It just feels good to finally go full speed against another guy," said Harris, who says he isn't worrying about the knee at all mentally. "It's just a progression into it. They're slowly working me back and today was the next progression."

He added that "it'll be awhile before I feel completely myself, but I feel great." Harris has been targeting Week 1 of the regular season for his return since his surgery, and he appears to be well on track for that goal.

Even though he says he won't play in the preseason, Harris was listed as a starter on the team's first official depth chart, opposite his college teammate at Kansas, Aqib Talib. As he continues his rehab and feels more and more like himself, Harris expects an immediate impact from his first game onward.

"I haven't lost anything, it feels like," he said. "Coverage skills -- that's all there."

"I know the whole defense so I can just jump in and play. The only thing with me is getting in shape. That's the only thing."
