ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Several Broncos who have dealt with injuries could soon return to the field.

Head Coach Vic Fangio said Friday that nose tackle Mike Purcell (ankle) and linebacker Josey Jewell (groin) were "both doing good."

Fangio said he expects Purcell to return before Jewell.

Both players have been out since the early days of training camp.

Fangio also said he expects wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland (backside) to return to the field in the near future.

"He should be back shortly," Fangio said. "I don't know that it will be tomorrow, but I definitely expect him to be back soon."

In addition to those three players, wide receiver Amara Darboh, cornerback Mac McCain III (hamstring) and defensive lineman Deyon Sizer (hamstring) did not practice.

Rookie safety Jamar Johnson did return to practice.

"He's got to get reps," Fangio said. "It's one thing to sit in a meeting and learn. Same thing with [Baron] Browning. Those two guys are way behind, especially Browning. And there's no way to catch up other than get out there and practice."

Browning remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list with cornerbacks Essang Bassey and Duke Dawson Jr.
