ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos' No. 1 receiver has signed a new deal.

Wide receiver Courtland Sutton officially signed a four-year contract extension on Monday, the team announced.

Sutton enters the season on the heels of a career year, as he recorded 1,081 yards and a career-high 81 catches in 2024.

The SMU product also recorded his second consecutive season with at least eight touchdowns, making him one of five NFL players with at least that many scoring grabs in each of the last two years.

Denver's leading receiver in three of the last four seasons, Sutton ranked first in the NFL on third-down plays in receiving yards, receiving first downs and receptions of at least 20 yards.

In addition to his 1,000-yard campaign a year ago, Sutton also broke the mark — and earned a Pro Bowl nod — in 2019.

"He's a strong target," Head Coach Sean Payton said of Sutton after Monday's practice. "He's smart. He's … clearly one of our leaders on this team. There's a lot of things that he brings to the table."

In his two years playing for Payton, Sutton has caught 140 passes for 1,853 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Sutton is the third-fastest player in team history to reach 5,000 career receiving yards and the fifth-fastest to reach 300 catches. His 379 receptions rank ninth in franchise history, and he needs 84 catches and 861 yards to surpass Ed McCaffrey for the No. 5 spot in franchise history in those two respective categories.

With a new contract, he may be poised to soon move even further up the franchise leaderboard.
