ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — A key defensive player will remain in Denver.
The Broncos signed defensive tackle Malcolm Roach to a three-year extension, the team announced Wednesday.
A sixth-year player, Roach has recorded 64 tackles, five tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two passes defensed since signing with the Broncos ahead of the 2024 season.
Roach was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2025.
A key piece of Denver's defensive line, Roach has helped the Broncos improve their run defense since his arrival. After ranking 30th in rushing defense in 2023, the Broncos improved to third in that category last season. Through 11 games in 2025, the Broncos are again a top three unit and are allowing just 88.5 rushing yards per game. Denver's 3.63 rush yards allowed per attempt currently ranks No. 1 in the NFL.
The Broncos also signed kicker Wil Lutz on Monday. Denver previously signed wide receiver Courtland Sutton, defensive lineman Zach Allen and outside linebacker Nik Bonitto to extensions during the summer.
