DENVER — The Denver Broncos and 9NEWS announced today that longtime Denver sports and news anchor Ron Zappolo will once again serve as the play-by-play announcer for all four of the club's preseason contests, which will air on KTVD Channel 20. Former Broncos safety John Lynch (at Sea., 8/15; vs. S.F., 8/29; vs. Ariz., 9/3) and defensive end Alfred Williams (at Hou., 8/22) are set to provide analysis with Zappolo in the booth as KUSA-TV anchor/reporter Rod Mackey joins the crew from the sidelines.

"This is the time of year all of Broncos Country looks forward to," 9NEWS President Mark Cornetta said. "It's truly a pleasure to have the knowledge and experience of Bronco legends John Lynch and Alfred Williams, alongside Ron Zappolo and our own Rod Mackey for these games. These guys are going to put on a great show.  All of us at 9NEWS are excited to work with this team and to broadcast all four pre-season games into homes across Colorado and the region."

Zappolo, who has worked in the Denver market for more than three decades, was reunited last year with KUSA-TV as a weekend sports conversationalist for the station. He previously worked as a sports anchor for 9NEWS and CBS 4 before becoming a news anchor for FOX 31.

Lynch, a Pro Bowler during each of his four years (2004-07) playing for the Broncos, will enter his eighth season as an analyst for FOX NFL broadcasts. He provided analysis for Denver's preseason broadcast during the last two seasons and also has experience working as a commentator for Tampa Bay's preseason games.

Williams, who played for Denver from 1996-99 and was part of the club's back-to-back Super Bowl teams in 1997 and '98, provided commentary for two preseason broadcasts for 9NEWS in 2011 and for one game in 2014.

In addition to his work as an anchor/reporter for KUSA since 2000, Mackey has worked as a preseason sideline reporter with 9NEWS Broncos broadcasts during the last four years.

The 2015 season will mark the fifth consecutive year 9NEWS will serve as the Broncos' official television partner and preseason network. In addition to airing preseason games, KUSA-TV works with the team to provide unique local programming such as Broncos Huddle, Broncos Tonight, Broncos Sideline Stories and Broncos Game Day Live.
