ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Two Broncos offensive lineman are in the running for a new league-wide honor.

Tackle Garett Bolles and guard Quinn Meinerz were named finalists for the inaugural Protector of the Year Award, the NFL announced Thursday.

The winner of the award will be revealed during NFL Honors on Thursday, Feb. 5.

Bolles and Meinerz, who were both named AP first-team All-Pros, were among the six finalists for the new award. The Broncos were the only team to have two finalists for the honor.

According to an NFL release, the award "shines a spotlight on a portion group that is essential to team success yet often underrepresented in traditional awards."

A six-person panel of former NFL All-Pros selected the finalists based on quality of competition, availability to teammates, durability, weekly consistency, video validation and football analytics.

During the 2025 season, Bolles allowed the lowest pressure rate of any left tackle in the NFL, according to NextGen Stats. Meinerz, meanwhile, allowed the second-lowest pressure rate among right guards.

Miami's Aaron Brewer, Kansas City's Creed Humphrey, Detroit's Penei Sewell and Chicago's Joe Thuney were also selected as finalists.
