ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos' second-year quarterback has joined an elite group.
Quarterback Bo Nix has been named the 64th-ranked player on this year's NFL Top 100 list in his first year of eligibility, following his standout rookie performance last season.
Nix joins defensive lineman Zach Allen, who slotted in at No. 90, as Broncos who have been named to the list. The list will be revealed incrementally over the coming weeks before the top 10 players are announced on Sept. 1.
In his record-breaking debut season, Nix quickly solidified his place among the NFL's most exciting young talents. He set new franchise rookie records in touchdown passes, passing yards, wins and more. He threw 29 touchdown passes, the second-highest total by a rookie in NFL history, and earned a pair of AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Nix also posted seven games with at least 200 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and zero interceptions – the most such performances by a rookie in league history.
Nix is the first Broncos signal-caller since Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning to be recognized on the NFL Top 100 for his performance as Denver's quarterback.
The list, which is voted on by NFL players, currently features Nix, Jordan Love (No. 68), Sam Darnold (No. 72), Dak Prescott (No. 79) and Tua Tagovailoa (No. 91) at the quarterback position.
