ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos signed wide receiver Kelvin McKnight to their 10-man practice squad on Wednesday, the team announced.

Denver released offensive lineman Tyler Jones from its practice squad in the corresponding move.

McKnight, a rookie from Samford, competed with the Broncos during the 2019 offseason and the team's training camp.

He was waived by the team as Denver cut its roster down to 53 players.

McKnight, who spent time on New England's practice squad this season, caught seven passes for 43 yards during the preseason. He also returned punts for the Broncos during the preseason.

After trading Emmanuel Sanders to the 49ers on Tuesday, the Broncos still have one open spot on their active roster.
