ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have made a series of roster moves ahead of their Week 1 game against the Titans.
Denver promoted quarterback Sam Ehlinger from the practice squad to the active roster, placed defensive tackle Malcolm Roach on injured reserve and elevated fullback Adam Prentice and inside linebacker Levelle Bailey from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Titans, the team announced.
Ehlinger competed with the Broncos during the offseason before joining the team's practice squad in late August. The Texas product has appeared in eight games in his career and completed 73.7 percent of his passes for 415 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a 98.2 quarterback rating in his preseason action with Denver.
Roach, a sixth-year veteran, was added to the injury report on Thursday with a calf injury and was ruled out for Week 1 on Friday. After being placed on injured reserve, Roach must remain out for at least four games. He would be eligible to return as early as Denver's Week 5 game in Philadelphia.
Prentice signed with the Broncos in mid-August and joined Denver's practice squad following the 53-man roster deadline. He appeared in 48 games for the Saints over the last four seasons, playing 623 offensive snaps in that span. The Broncos did not previously have an available fullback on their active roster, as versatile tight end Nate Adkins was ruled out for the Week 1 matchup. Fullback Michael Burton was placed on season-ending injured reserve in late August.
Bailey appeared in 10 games as a rookie in 2024, playing 52 percent of the Broncos' special teams snaps in the games in which he appeared. Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad and Karene Reid will join Bailey as the other available inside linebackers for Week 1, as Denver previously ruled out linebacker Dre Greenlaw for Sunday's game.
Players are eligible to be elevated from the practice squad for three games in a given season.
The Broncos begin their season with a Week 1 matchup against the Titans on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. MT on FOX.
