Broncos CB Jahdae Barron signs rookie contract

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos' top pick has inked his first NFL deal.

Cornerback Jahdae Barron signed his four-year rookie contract, the team announced Wednesday. Barron's rookie contract also includes a fifth-year option.

Barron, the 20th-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, is the sixth Broncos draft pick to sign his contract.

A multi-time All-Big 12 selection at Texas, Barron won the 2024 Jim Thorpe award as the nation's top defensive back. He led the SEC in both interceptions and passes defended last season.

"He's extremely smart, and he played both [inside and outside cornerback] at Texas," Head Coach Sean Payton said in June. "His instincts are real, real high. You can give him more than maybe some other younger player at the same position. Some guys you might say, 'Let's just leave him at left corner or right corner.' I think he's one of those players that can handle volume."

Wide receiver Pat Bryant, defensive end Sai'vion Jones, outside linebacker Que Robinson, punter Jeremy Crawshaw and tight end Caleb Lohner previously signed their rookie contracts.
