HOUSTON — Veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis is officially active for Sunday's game against the Texans and appears poised to make his debut.

Lewis, who signed with the team on Wednesday and was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday, would become the oldest player to appear in a game in franchise history.

Wide receiver Michael Bandy is also active for the game after being elevated.

Lewis and Bandy were elevated after tight end Nate Adkins and wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. were ruled out due to injury. Cornerback Pat Surtain II and safety P.J. Locke joined Adkins and Mims among the team's inactive players after they were also ruled out due to injury.

Offensive lineman Alex Palczewski, who was added to the injury report as questionable on Saturday, is active for Sunday's game.

Defensive back J.T. Gray, whom the team signed before Week 7, is active for the first time since joining the team.
