ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — As the 53-man roster deadline approaches, the Broncos have agreed to a trade with the Lions.

Denver will send wide receiver Trinity Benson and a 2023 sixth-round pick to the Detroit Lions for 2022 fifth- and seventh-round picks.

Benson, who spent extended time on Denver's practice squad, led the Broncos in receptions this preseason as he caught eight passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Benson also returned a punt and a kick during the preseason. He has yet to appear in a regular season game during his career.

Denver must trim its roster from 80 players to 53 by 2 p.m. MT on Tuesday.
