ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Cornerback Pat Surtain II was not assigned an injury designation for "Sunday Night Football" against the Commanders, which indicates the reigning Defensive Player of the Year is set to make his return.
Surtain (pectoral) was a full participant for the second consecutive day and was not assigned a game status. The absence of a game status indicates a player will be available.
"It feels great, honestly," Surtain said Friday. "It's been a long couple of weeks not being out there. I'm grateful and blessed to be back healthy. It definitely feels good to be back."
The Broncos' star cornerback has not played since suffering an injury in the first half against the Cowboys in Week 8. Denver's defense held up admirably in Surtain's absence, allowing an average of 13.7 points per game while the Broncos earned a 3-0 record.
"[Those] guys, they exuded a lot of confidence out there," Surtain said. "[Those] dudes were just playing lights out. It made me a fan to watch on the sidelines. Just being out there, seeing from my lens, those guys playing with full strength and confidence. You could tell everybody was together, flying around, playing good ball. When you look at stuff like that, it makes it even more and more exciting to get back out there with the guys."
Wide receiver Pat Bryant (shoulder), outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper (thumb) and inside linebacker Alex Singleton (illness) were also full participants and not assigned game statuses.
Outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (hamstring) was the lone Broncos player who was listed as questionable, as he was limited for the third consecutive day.
Tight end Nate Adkins (knee) was ruled out.
The Broncos face the Commanders on Sunday at 6:20 p.m. MT in prime time on NBC.
