ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — For the first time this season, a Broncos rookie has earned a league-wide honor.

Running back RJ Harvey has been named the NFL Rookie of the Week following a three-touchdown performance against the Cowboys in Week 8.

Harvey is the first Broncos player to win Rookie of the Week since quarterback Bo Nix earned the award in three consecutive weeks from Week 10-12 last season. He's also the first Broncos running back to win the honor since Javonte Williams in 2021.

The Central Florida product became just the fifth Broncos rookie to record a three-touchdown day, and he was the first to reach that mark since Clinton Portis in 2002. He was also the first Broncos rookie with two rushing touchdowns in a game since 2018.

Harvey's scores included a 40-yard touchdown run — the longest by a Broncos player since 2021 — that put Denver on the board.

The Giants' Jaxson Dart, Texans' Woody Marks, Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan, Chargers' Oronde Gadsden and Browns' Harold Fannin were also nominated in Week 8.
