The Lead
As the 2025 NFL season kicks off, tackle Garett Bolles has been recognized for his work in the Denver community.
Bolles was named the NFLPA's Community MVP for Week 1 of the season in recognition of the recent opening of the B&B Apraxia Education Initiative training center.
The Broncos' veteran tackle unveiled the center in late August alongside speech-language pathologist Jennie Bjorem. The first-of-its-kind facility is designed to help train educators to better diagnose and treat Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Bolles' son, Kingston, was diagnosed with CAS several years ago.
"I'm super excited," Bolles said at the opening. "This has just been a long process that we've brainstormed with a lot of people across the country to be able to open up a training center for special education teachers to be able to learn more about apraxia.
"… To give back in so many ways is awesome and always what I've wanted. I never thought this day would come, but it's coming and I'm just so grateful."
The Broncos' 2023 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee, Bolles has been a consistent staple in the Denver community since being drafted in 2017. He has also earned recognition as a Broncos Community Impact Award winner (2022) and Broncos Community Ambassador (2021, 2024).
