The Lead

Wide receiver Courtland Sutton continues to be a bright spot on the Broncos offense. During a tough loss to the Raiders on Sunday, Sutton racked up 94 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions, and was especially effective at converting first downs for Denver.

"Courtland Sutton drew a team-high 14 targets in the defeat, hauling in eight of them for 94 yards," Pro Football Focus' Jacob Rosenfarb wrote. "Sutton also caught a touchdown and reeled in a game-high seven first-down receptions."

Sutton continued his streak of reliability, completing another game without being credited with a drop. Sutton now leads all NFL receivers with 51 consecutive targets without a drop.

Sutton continues to impress this season, after missing most of 2020 with a knee injury. Now in his fourth season with Denver, Sutton has stepped up as the Broncos' No. 1 receiver amid a flurry of injuries to the receiving corps. He has hauled in two touchdowns and 471 yards through the first six games.

As Denver looks to bounce back in prime time vs. the Browns, under the bright lights of "Thursday Night Football," Sutton will need to keep his hot streak going and continue to provide a spark on offense.

Below the Fold

Rookie running back Javonte Williams is proving to be a one-man highlight reel. Every week, Williams seems to have at least one incredible play that resonates through the league. Two weeks ago, he carried a pile of Ravens defenders on his back into the red zone and last week he broke free for a 49-yard run. This week, he hurdled a Raiders defender to cap a 30-yard run.

Williams continues to provide an explosive factor for Denver's offense, and has proved to be one of the toughest running backs in the NFL to bring down. He rushed 11 times for 53 yards in Week 6 for an average of 4.8 yards per carry.

Thanks to yet another impressive highlight, Williams continues to earn well-deserved praise from around the league.

As the Broncos head to Cleveland on a short week for "Thursday Night Football," Williams should continue to build on his impressive rookie resume. A dominant performance in the run game on Thursday could go a long way in reenergizing Denver's offense as they look to bounce back from Sunday's loss.
