ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver Broncos Partnership Marketing Coordinator Luis Barajas has been selected as the team's nominee for the 2025 Salute to Service Award presented by USAA, it was announced.

A United States Navy veteran, Barajas joined the team full time in 2023 following an internship with the club's corporate partnerships department. In his role, he manages key corporate partnerships and leads initiatives that honor and support the military community.

Prior to the Broncos, Barajas served as a Fire Control Technician in the Navy for five years, specializing in the operation, maintenance and repair of weapons control systems aboard submarines. While serving on the USS Georgia, he was a part of four overseas deployments and was named both the "Blue Jacket of the Quarter" and "Junior Sailor of the Year" in 2017 for outstanding performance.

He currently serves as a Greyshirt with Team Rubicon, a volunteer organization that mobilizes veterans and first responders to provide disaster relief. In this role, Barajas was most recently deployed to assist with recovery efforts following the Marshall Fire in 2021—the most destructive fire in Colorado's history.

Barajas is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder where he earned a degree in business administration and marketing. During his time at CU, he served as an ambassador for the Student Veterans Association, supporting fellow service members by helping veterans transition from active duty to student life with confidence, connection and purpose.

The Salute to Service Award is part of the NFL and USAA's year-round commitment to recognize and honor the military community. Each year, the NFL and its 32 teams come together to recognize and empower members of the military as part of the NFL's Salute to Service initiative.
