ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — After recording the go-ahead score in Sunday's win over the Raiders, wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. has earned league-wide recognition.
Mims was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 14, the NFL announced Wednesday.
The two-time All-Pro returner recorded his first career punt-return touchdown in the 24-17 win, as he broke free from a swarm of defenders and raced down the left sideline to record a 48-yard score. The touchdown broke a 7-7 tie in the second quarter and gave the Broncos a lead they would not relinquish.
Mims, who earned the award for the third time in his career, became the first Broncos player since 2020 to return a punt for a touchdown.
Mims is the fourth Broncos player to earn Player of the Week honors this season, joining Nik Bonitto (Week 5), Jonathon Cooper (Week 6) and Wil Lutz (Week 11).
The third-year player was also named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 15 of 2024 and Week 10 of 2023.
