Best before the bye: The top 3 games of the Broncos' 2025 season so far

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have had a series of impressive performances en route to their best start to a season in a decade.

With a couple of blowout wins and many dramatic, down-to-the-wire finishes, the Broncos have found different ways to win as they've posted a 9-2 start.

Before the Broncos close out the final six games of the regular season, we're taking a look back at their top wins of the first 11 weeks.

[Note: The following is the opinion of the DenverBroncos.com staff.]

3. Broncos 21, Eagles 17

Head Coach Sean Payton has pointed to this game as a turning point in Denver's season, as the Broncos surged back in the fourth quarter to shock the defending champions. Trailing 17-3 entering the final frame, the Broncos outscored the Eagles 18-0 in the fourth quarter to improve to 3-2 and end Philadelphia's unbeaten season.

Before the win, the Broncos were 1-112 in franchise history when entering the fourth quarter trailing by at least 14 points on the road. In stunning fashion, they were able to add another victory to that column.

Keyed by a touchdown pass to Evan Engram and a daring two-point conversion call to take the lead, the Broncos were able to complete the comeback as they knocked down Jalen Hurts' last-second Hail Mary attempt.

Bo Nix was a stellar 9-of-10 for 127 yards, a touchdown and a 152.1 passer rating in the final quarter as he led three consecutive scoring drives. The defense, meanwhile, recorded five consecutive stops to end the game.

In an unlikely win, the Broncos showed some of their first signs that they could be headed for a special season.

2. Broncos 33, Giants 32

It was difficult to not put this game in the top spot. On the day that the Broncos honored the late Demaryius Thomas and the Super Bowl 50 team, Denver recorded one of the biggest comebacks in franchise history.

Trailing by nearly 20 points entering the final quarter, the Broncos scored 33 points to surge back and earn a dramatic victory. Teams trailing by 18 points with six minutes to play had lost their last 1,608 games, but the Broncos found a way to be the exception.

The comeback required Troy Franklin hauling in a deflected touchdown pass, a critical Justin Strnad interception and a go-ahead Nix touchdown run. But even then, it wasn't over. The Giants responded and re-took the lead with just 37 seconds remaining, but New York missed the extra point to give Denver a chance.

With two deep passes to Marvin Mims Jr. and Courtland Sutton, the Broncos got in position for the game-winning field goal.

Denver's 33 points were the most in any quarter in the history of the franchise and the second most in any fourth quarter in NFL history. Nix also became the first player in NFL history with two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in a fourth quarter.

In the most dramatic game of the season, the Broncos needed all the Mile High Magic they could summon — and it was enough to earn the win.

1. Broncos 22, Chiefs 19

This game didn't require one of the most significant comebacks in franchise history, but it's entirely deserving of the top spot because of what it means for the season.

For the last nine seasons, the Chiefs have earned the top spot in the AFC West. Thanks to this win, that could soon change.

In a back-and-forth battle, the Broncos outscored the Chiefs by three in the fourth quarter to earn their ninth win of the season. After the Chiefs went ahead midway through the fourth quarter, Frank Crum blocked an extra point to keep the game within three points. On Kansas City's ensuing possession, Denver's defense forced a three-and-out to set up a game-tying field goal. After Ja'Quan McMillian's sack ended another Kansas City drive, Nix delivered a pair of critical third-down throws before finding Franklin to put Denver in position for the game-winning score.

In poetic fashion, Wil Lutz drilled a kick from the exact same distance that led to Denver's heartbreak in Kansas City last season.

With the win, the Broncos' chances of winning the AFC West for the first time since 2015 improved to 75 percent, according to The Athletic's playoff simulator.

Denver has now won three consecutive home games against the Chiefs and three of the last four overall matchups.

This game was billed as one of the matchups of the season, and it certainly delivered.
