"My heart goes out to him and everything that he means to this team, because obviously we wouldn't be in this position without Bo," Stidham said. "… I know all of us on offense and I know the whole team, we want to go out there and make him proud this Sunday."

"He's been waiting for this moment for the entirety of his career," tackle Mike McGlinchey said. "He's more prepared than anybody would be in this situation, and he can ball. He flat out can play quarterback."

The Broncos are retaining a veteran presence in their quarterback room.

"I said to [the team] afterwards, 'Don't ever get tired of how it feels to win,'" Head Coach Sean Payton said.

Payton said there will be "a number of starters that won't see any reps" in the team's preseason finale against the Cardinals.

As the Broncos prepare for their first open practice of organized team activities, Manning believes Jarrett Stidham, Zach Wilson and Bo Nix should all be able to improve ahead of the season.

Head Coach Sean Payton emphasized Monday that while Stidham will compete for Denver's starting role, "there will be other candidates" to be the Broncos' starting quarterback.

"It's one thing to practice certain things, but once you're out there playing and making calls at the line and doing certain things and getting a feel for it in live action, I felt like I definitely grew and [I'm] looking forward to the spring."

Stidham started the final two games of the 2022 season for the Raiders, throwing for 584 yards and four touchdowns.

Payton credited Stidham's decision-making and ball security, and he said "there were some things I was really encouraged about" from Stidham's performance.

"He's just got this confidence about him," Adam Trautman said. "When he comes in the huddle, it's pretty awesome."

"Finishing off the season the right way, 9-8, is super important to us," outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper said. "It is how this season should go, and we have to make sure we get that done."
