The Squeeze: Rookies, Manning and workouts

Good morning #BroncosCountry,

Here are four buzz-worthy storylines to catch up on this morning!

1. Rookies enjoy NFL Symposium

The Broncos' drafted rookies traveled to Aurora, Ohio, on Saturday in preparation for the NFL Rookie Symposium. The event started on Sunday and all the drafted rookies from all 32 teams will sit through sessions of presentations, videos, group sessions and lectures from current and former players.

Sessions cover a wide variety of topics including player health and safety, decision making, mental health, substance abuse, finance, building a winning culture and bystander intervention.

Safety Josh Furman posted an Instagram of the whole rookie class with the exception of tight end Jeff Heuerman, who remained in Denver to continue rehabbing his knee.

The four-day event will also feature a PLAY 60 youth football clinic with participation from all rookies on June 23 at the Cleveland Browns training complex.

2. Manning visits alma mater

QB Peyton Manning took time during his five-week offseason break to travel to Knoxville, Tenn., home of his alma mater Tennessee.

During his visit, Manning presented four incoming freshman with the Peyton Manning Scholarship. The Peyton Manning Scholarship Endowment was established in 1998 and now has supported twenty-five students who have benefited from the scholarship. It is awarded to incoming students on the basis of academic achievement, leadership, and community service

In addition to his ceremony honoring the four selected scholars, Manning helped Tennessee dedicate another gift to the university, naming Gate 16 as the Gus Manning gate honoring another Volunteer legend whose 64 years of service to UT has forged bonds nationwide.

Though Gus and Peyton share last names, the pair doesn't share any familial bonds, but their relationship is special nonetheless.
