*EDITOR'S NOTE: This story originally ran in the Week 17 Gameday program, when the Broncos defeated the Cleveland Browns 38-3.
Has offense always been your specialty as a coach?

"When I was a graduate assistant as LSU, I was on the defensive side, helping with the defensive backs. But now I really enjoy coaching quarterbacks. The last two years have been a great experience and I've been able to coach a great group of players."

What are you looking for each week from the quarterbacks?

"We're constantly trying to fine-tune details of everything we do. It's constantly looking for perfection. Peyton is always trying to think outside the box as far as improving what he wants to accomplish."

How pleased have you been with the progress of the backup quarterbacks?

"Both Brock (Osweiler) and Caleb (Hanie) have done a great job. They prepare each week like a starter. When given the opportunity in practice, both quarterbacks have shown improvement."

Have you seen Osweiler and Hanie taking advantage of scout-team reps?

"Absolutely. Brock and Caleb have done a good job because any time they get into a scout team situation, they take full advantage of it as far as making each rep count. They take those reps and play those plays like they're our plays."

How has Manning's presence affected the entire team?

"I just think there is a sense of urgency. Whether you're a player or coach, everything that he does is meant to help the team win. He doesn't ask anything of others that he wouldn't ask of himself. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to prepare and play the game at a high level."

This offense has scored more than 30 points 10 times this season. How proud are you of the success of the group as a whole?

"As a team, we've scored 30 points or more. Defense, special teams and the offense have all contributed – it's been a total team effort from all three phases. As far as the offense is concerned, (Offensive Coordinator) Coach (Mike) McCoy has done a great job of utilizing our players and putting them in a position to succeed. We've taken things week-by-week all year, and the idea is playing our best football in January."
