Gary Kubiak to receive lifetime-achievement award

Texas A&M University announced Friday that Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak will be honored with a lifetime-achievement award.

Kubiak became the first former Aggie to win a Super Bowl as a head coach, but his achievements in football were plentiful while at Texas A&M, too. He earned three letters at quarterback and was honored with the Aggie Heart Award, which Texas A&M calls "the most prestigious honor for an Aggie senior football player."

After Kubiak's NFL playing career, he served as Texas A&M's running backs coach for two seasons.

Kubiak and the other award winners will be honored on Nov. 18 at the 39th annual Burgess Banquet in the Hall of Champions at Kyle Field.

Kubiak was previously inducted into the Texas High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
