Zack Grossi (pronounced: grah-SEE) enters his fourth season with the Denver Broncos and his second as passing game specialist in 2025. He was hired by the club on Feb. 28, 2022.
In Grossi's first three seasons, the Broncos have totaled 76 receiving touchdowns—the 13th-most in the NFL in that span—while also tallying 11,381 yards on 1,061 receptions (10.7 avg.). Since 2022, Denver's receivers are responsible for 51 receiving touchdowns, which is tied for the 11th-most in the NFL.
In 2024, Denver's receivers totaled the fifth-most receiving touchdowns in the NFL among their position group (21) while also tallying the fourth-most receiving yards after the catch (1,173). Additionally, wide receiver Courtland Sutton recorded his second career 1,000-yard season—the first by a Bronco since 2019—after finishing the year with a career-high 81 receptions for 1,081 yards (13.3 avg.) with eight scores.
With the assistance of Grossi's coaching, Denver also posted its first winning season in eight years in 2024 as well as its first playoff appearance since the 2015 season.
During Grossi's second season with the club in 2023, the Broncos' wide receivers thrived, with Sutton recording 10 touchdown catches to become the first Bronco since 2014 to record double-digit touchdown receptions in a season. Denver's 28 scores through the air—20 of which were by wide receivers—were the most by the team since 2014.
In his first season with the team in 2022, Grossi helped coach a wide receiver room that featured two pass catchers who each recorded over 800 receiving yards. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy posted career highs in receptions (67), yards (972) and touchdowns (6), while wide receiver Courtland Sutton totaled 64 catches for 829 yards (13.0 avg.) with two scores.
Grossi joined the Broncos after spending two seasons (2020-21) at Southern University and A&M College (Baton Rouge, La.). Performing the role of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Grossi helped guide the offense to 32.0 points per game during his tenure.
Before Southern University, Grossi worked as quarterbacks coach at Hampton University during the 2019 season. His quarterback room posted a 139.2 passer rating while leading an offense that scored 40 points or more five times.
Prior to his three years at the collegiate level, Grossi spent five seasons in the NFL, performing multiple roles for Tampa Bay. He spent his first year (2014) as a scouting assistant before working as a pro scout (2015), assistant to the head coach (2016) and an offensive quality control coach (2017-18).
Grossi began his coaching career at his alma mater, Concord University, working as an offensive graduate assistant following the completion of his undergraduate degree in 2013. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in recreation and tourism management.
As a player, Grossi appeared in 27 games at quarterback over four seasons (2009-12) at Concord, completing 536-of-905 passes (59.2%) for 7,052 yards with 57 passing touchdowns and five rushing scores. He concluded his playing career ranked first in Concord history in completions (536) and touchdown passes (57), and second in passing yards (7,052).
