Manning Hopes to Return to Wednesday Practices

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --For the third consecutive Wednesday, quarterback Peyton Manning did not participate in practice.

In both of the previous two weeks, he ended up with a game status of probable -- and suited up for both games.

Last week, Interim Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio said he didn't want to commit to whether Manning would miss Wednesday practices going forward.

"We do what we think is best with the guys and getting them prepared for the game," he said.

After Wednesday's session, it didn't sound like Manning has any intention of making a missed practice a week a permanent feature the rest of the season.

"I'd certainly like to be back out there," Manning said. "This was (Head Athletic Trainer Steve Antonopulos) 'Greek' and the coaches' orders, but I'd prefer to be back out there.

"Hopefully by next week that may be so."
