ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos will likely be without their leading rusher for a Week 13 matchup with the Chiefs.

Running back Melvin Gordon III is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game, Head Coach Vic Fangio announced Friday.

Gordon did not practice this week with shoulder and hip injuries. Fangio said Gordon did not improve during the week. If Gordon cannot play, Fangio said he has a "really high" level of confidence in rookie running back Javonte Williams.

Williams would make the first start of his career in Gordon's absence.

The rookie rusher ranks just behind Gordon in rushing yards, as he has carried the ball 117 times for 568 yards to Gordon's 135 carries for 605 yards.

Fangio said reserve running back Mike Boone "would go in there some" to complement Williams.

The Broncos should regain tackle Garett Bolles, who missed the last three games and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game. He was a full participant during Friday's practice.

"He did fine," Fangio said of Bolles' week of practice. "Yesterday was his first day, he had a good focus. And today I think looked good too. I think he's fine. He'll be ready to play."

Guard Dalton Risner (back), defensive end Shelby Harris (ankle), guard Quinn Meinerz (knee), tackle Bobby Massie (ankle), cornerback Nate Hairston (hip) and outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper (neck) are also questionable. All six players were limited in Friday's practice, and Cooper was a new addition to the team's injury report.

Fangio said outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (ankle) also improved this week.

"I think a big part of it was getting the plays that he got in the game last week," Fangio said. "Felt more confident, more comfortable and I thought cut himself loose a little bit more in practice this week."

Chubb was not given a game status, which indicates he will be available to play. Tight end Eric Saubert (ankle), cornerback Ronald Darby (illness), wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland (hamstring), inside linebacker Baron Browning (back), safeties Kareem Jackson (neck) and Caden Sterns (shoulder), nose tackle Mike Purcell (thumb) and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (tibia) were also not given game statuses. All nine players were full participants in Friday's practice.
