Hanie Joins Broncos

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --The Broncos have added their second quarterbackof the free agency period as the team announced that it agreed to terms with quarterback Caleb Hanie on Sunday.

Hanie enters his fourth NFL season in 2012 after opening his career with the Chicago Bears. He has played 10 career games (4 starts) and completed 59-of-116 passes for 679 yards with three touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

He started the final four games of the 2011 season for Chicago and connected on 51-of-102 passes for 613 yards with three touchdowns and nine interceptions.

In the 2010 NFC Championship Game, Hanie replaced injured Bears starter Jay Cuter and went 13-of-20 for 153 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.

At Colorado State University, Hanie finished second in school history with a 61.0 career completion percentage and ranked fifth in Mountain West Conference annals with 39 passing touchdowns.

He joined the Bears as a college free agent in 2008 and appeared in two regular-season games for the team in 2009 and 2010.

Hanie joins Peyton Manning and Adam Weber as quarterbacks on the current Broncos roster.
