Go Broncos! What an amazing experience to be a Denver Broncos Kid Correspondent! Since I was born, I have been a Microtia patient at Children's Hospital Colorado. Being born with Microtia means that I can't hear like other people. It also means that I am smart, kind, funny and amazing. It also means that I get to teach other people to love themselves no matter what. Being a kid correspondent means a lot to me, because it makes me feel important and special.
When I first arrived, I got to get a tour of the facility. We saw the trophies, the locker room and the cafeteria, which was the best part because I got free ice cream! I even suggested that they would make homemade gummy bears! We got to see the theater rooms where the players watched film, the countdown clock for game time, the game ball wall and the uniforms displayed where players could see what uniform they were wearing that week! This girl loves fashion so that was important! And we got to go to the players' lounge! It was super cool it had a door that opened up automatically, it was kind of hidden.
After the tour was the interview! I interviewed Alex Singleton. He was kind and was excited for my awesome interview questions. I asked him his favorite ice cream sundae toppings, his favorite part about football, who his hero was and who was the better dancer, me or him. We both knew it was me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I appreciate that he took the time to answer my questions and ask me things too! It showed me how important I am and how I can inspire other people to be who they are too.
People look up to players from the Denver Broncos, like I do to my new favorite player, Alex Singleton! The players work hard, practice on the field we watched, learned from their mistakes from the film rooms we saw, made jokes and learned new things like what axolotls are like in the interview, and showed me love and kindness. I realized that I am also someone that wants to use my Microtia as inspiration for others to look up to just like a Denver Broncos player. I will work hard, practice, learn from my mistakes and show everyone love and kindness too.
Being a Denver Broncos kid correspondent was an opportunity of a lifetime that I feel blessed to be a part of. Thank you to the Denver Broncos, Children's Hospital and Alex Singleton for showing me what it takes to work hard and to inspire others. Keeping being you. Keep loving yourself no matter what. AND GO BRONCOS!
