ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett has made the first hires of his new tenure in Denver.

The Broncos have named Justin Outten as their offensive coordinator, Butch Barry as their offensive line coach and Klint Kubiak as their Passing Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach, the team announced Wednesday.

Outten, who spent the spent the last three seasons as the Packers' tight ends coach, will help Hackett lead his offense in Denver. Hackett said during his introductory press conference that he expects to install an offensive system that features the outside zone run game, the play-action pass and deep shots down the field.

While in Green Bay, Outten oversaw a productive tight end group that helped the Packers find success through the air and on the ground. In 2019, the group helped the Packers score 18 rushing touchdowns, which ranked seventh in the league. Then, a season ago, he helped Robert Tonyan tie a franchise record for the most touchdown receptions by a tight end.

Prior to his time with the Packers, Outten spent three years with the Atlanta Falcons, where he began as an offensive intern in 2016 and worked with the offensive line as an offensive assistant in 2017-18. During his tenure with the Falcons, Atlanta had the combined third-ranked total offense and fourth-ranked scoring offense. The Falcons also ranked in the top 10 in yards per play, passing offense, plays of 10-plus yards, giveaways and yards per carry during that span.

Barry spent the 2021 season as the 49ers' assistant offensive line coach after working with the Packers as a senior analyst in 2020. He has also worked as the University of Miami's offensive line coach (2019) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' assistant offensive line coach (2015-18). Prior to his time in the NFL, Barry accrued 13 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.

Kubiak joins the Broncos after spending the 2021 season as the Vikings' offensive coordinator. Kubiak, the son of Super Bowl winning head coach Gary Kubiak, has eight years of NFL experience. He served as the Vikings' quarterbacks coach from 2019-20, and he previously worked with the Broncos from 2016-18 as an offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach. He also worked with Minnesota as a quality control/assistant wide receivers coach from 2013-14. He has also worked at Texas A&M (2010-12) and Kansas (2015).

Hackett will call plays for the Broncos' offense.
