ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The new NFL league year is set to begin on Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. MT, which means free agency is close at hand.
The Broncos and teams around the league will be able to negotiate with impending free agents around the league beginning on Monday at 10 a.m. MT during the legal tampering period, and signings can become official beginning on Wednesday.
As the Broncos look to add talent to their roster from other teams, they also must decide whether to bring any of their own impending free agents back to Denver.
The Broncos — and all other NFL teams — are able to negotiate with and re-sign their own impending free agents at any point and are not required to wait until the new league year begins.
The following players, listed alphabetically, are set to become free agents when the 2025 NFL league year begins on Wednesday:
Impending unrestricted free agents
Unrestricted free agents are permitted to sign with any team when the new league year begins. Before the start of the legal tampering period on Monday, the Broncos have exclusive negotiating rights with all of their unrestricted free agents.

CB Tremon Smith

Impending restricted free agents
Restricted free agents may be tendered at a first-, second- or original-round level. If a player is tendered, another team has the option to extend an offer sheet to that player. The Broncos may then match that offer sheet or receive a draft pick that corresponds to the level at which the player was tendered. If a restricted free agent is not tendered, he will become a free agent when the new league year begins.
